Researchers TĂmea DrinĂłczi and Ana Larissa Adorno Marciotto Oliveira participated in the Annual Law and Language Workshop 2026, promoted by the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies — School of Advanced Study, University of London.
Held online on June 23, 2026, the event focused on the theme “Language for Legislation and Legislation through Language” and brought together researchers from different international institutions to discuss the relations between language, legislation, legal translation, normative harmonization, and legislative drafting practices.
The researchers participated in different moments of the programme. TĂmea DrinĂłczi, affiliated with Mykolas Romeris University, Lithuania, took part in the presentation session of a book published by Routledge, alongside Helen Xanthaki.
Ana Larissa Adorno Marciotto Oliveira, affiliated with the Federal University of Minas Gerais and the University of Münster, presented the chapter “Gender Inclusiveness: Does Language as a Social Practice Meet Law-Making in Brazil?”, in which she discussed the relations between inclusive language, social practices, and law-making in the Brazilian context.
Their participation in the workshop strengthens the international dialogue among researchers in the fields of language, law, and legislation, while broadening the circulation of research developed in Brazil within international academic spaces.
